WHO WAS JAUME HUGUET?

Our school shares its name with the famous 15th century painter from Valls, Jaume Huguet.  He is known for the prestige of his great Gothic Works, which portray a creative, intuitive style to a range of innovative techniques such as the flemish style. This way, the painter created his own style known as “Huguetià” whose main features demostrate a special sensitivity to colours and light among other techniques.

He was known as a man of wisdom and harmony which helped him to become a highly influential person within his intellectual circle as well as being in charge of apprentices who demostrated a certain pictorial knowledge.

Most of his biographers lend to say that he transmits a simple style, tolerance and comprehension and that he was thougth to be a sensitive man with lots of compassion.
